Rachel Dwyer é professora titular de Cinema Indiano no Departamento de Film Studies na School of Oriental e African Studies (SOAS), University of London. Junto com Dennison, Cooke e Lim, ela faz parte do conselho da rede internacional “Soft Power, cinema and the BRICS”. Uma das pesquisadoras mais conceituadas do cinema de Bollywood e o cinema Hindi no sentido mais amplo do termo, tem várias publicações-chaves (por exemplo, Bollywood’s India: Hindi cinema as a guide to contemporary India, 2014) e contribui regularmente para festivais de cinema (como membro do júri) e para jornais, revistas e programas de TV sobre Bollywood e cultura indiana.

Rachel Dwyer is Professor of Indian Cinema in the Film Studies Department of the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. She co-directs the international research network Soft Power, Cinema and the BRICS. One of the most highly regarded researchers of Bollywood and Hindi cinema more broadly speaking, she has published a number of key texs (for example, Bollywood’s India: Hindi cinema as a guide to contemporary India, 2014) and she regularly contributes to film festivals (as jury member) to newspapers, magazines and radio and TV programmes on Bollywood and Indian culture.
